A runner’s gift guide…with an epic giveaway!
The weather this past week has been a little wild, with temps in the 60s at the beginning of December. I’m loving it. It means I get to run outdoors (I have a love-hate relationship with the treadmill.) Coming off of sickness, I’ve lost a lot of my endurance. My legs are basically starting over. I used to experience soreness after running 5 or 6 miles – and definitely when I hit 10 miles. Now I feel it at 3 miles.
I have a few things that I rely on for running. New to me are ProCompression socks. And I need to do a more in-depth review of the socks. The socks help with circulation and recovery. I wear them post-run, but I know some people where them while running. I haven’t tried them while running yet. (FYI: Sign up for their sock of the month club to get the latest deals sent to your inbox. And promo code BLG14 will save you 40% off socks and sleeves!)
I try to never, ever leave the house without my RoadID. I have the rubber bracelet (with interchangeable bands) and the metal plate has my name and my emergency contact info. I recently received a new RoadID with updated information – my allergy to certain medications. You never know what may happen on the open road – or during a race. I hope that nobody ever has to use my bracelet!
A good running jacket is a necessity for me. I’ve been wearing the Pearl Izumi Flash jacket the past week and it’s light enough to keep me somewhat warm – but not overheat. It looks good, and I have a pocket on the sleeve. For me, it kept my cough drops on a recent run. (Darn bronchitis!)
And on my head, in addition to sunglasses, I rarely leave home without my BIC Band. These bands are awesome, and I’ve been pleased with all the different widths of bands. I have them in a variety of colors and I can’t say enough great things about a company that gives to charity each month.
I’m super excited to be teaming up with my friend Julie at RunningInASkirt.com to give away a few of my favorite things. The items I just mentioned are up for grabs in our epic running giveaway! (Plus a couple I didn’t mention!)
We’ll be selecting SIX winners to receive one item from the list. Actually, Rafflecopter will be doing the selecting. First winner selected will receive the jacket. Second winner will receive the running skirt. Third will receive the socks. Fourth will receive the RoadID. Fifth will receive BIC Bands and sixth will receive the Runner Girl Jamberry nail wraps.

1 pair of PROCompression socks
1 RoadID (credit of $35)

**Julie and I have received several of the items above to try ourselves. We’ve not been compensated for this giveaway, and all opinions are our own!
What is the one thing you can’t run without? (Besides shoes. Because shoes are fairly important.)
Pick me, pick me! This is such an amazing giveaway. I really want to try the ProCompression socks. I really need better socks when running.
I’d say I can’t run without a really good sports bra š
I had that same thought when I was asking the question. š I also need music – or a running partner. Something to occupy my head!
music for certain!
Sports bra for sure. But music is a must when I’m walking or running. Not with headphones, but just blaring!!
What a great giveaway! I’m not a runner, but that ID bracelet would be stellar since I’m often out walking my dog, and I have chronic health problems. I have an app on my phone that lists much of my emergency info, but that bracelet is probably better š I’ll definitely be checking them out!
OMG. This is looks like my Christmas list! I’ve heard so many good things about the compression socks. I want them for my next race. I need a jacket for these chilly running days. I always need a new running skirt. I wore the Jamberry running girl wraps at the Komen race- love them.
my Garmin!! i NEED to know how far i’ve gone.
I”m not a runner, but I’ll certainly share your giveaway this week.
My phone! I’m clumsy so I’m afraid of getting hurt and not being able to call for help. Plus, I have to have my music.
I have to have my phone or a friend. I can’t run in silence!
I don’t run as much as I used to thanks to arthritis, but when I did all the time, I had to have a good set of ear buds. It was also important for me to have a very good sports bra!
š If anyone is looking for the Jamberry Runner Girl wrap I can help! Just visit my site at http://mistymassey.jamberrynails.net/
There are lots of other cute sports wraps available as well š
Happy Running!
Now this is a great giveaway! I’d like to try those sock, and I LOVE those nail wraps!!!
Because of the degenerative disc disease and the osteoarthritis in my hips I haven’t been able to really run in quite some time. I do bust out into a little jog on the treadmill from time to time. I do wear compression socks. Even have some pants. I am plus size and find that they really help – not only hold things together – but help me to go a little further.
My Daughter runs. Because of a hip replacement I walk. Sometimes. I even walk really fast
I get wicked shin splints, so I have been thinking a lot about compression socks lately! Great list you have here.
I am going with the rest and saying a good bra is a must. Nothing ends my runs faster than the ladies not being secured in place š This is a fabulous gift guide and giveaway!
I can’t run without my audiobooks — I like to lose myself and my stress in a good book!
So hard to choose. I run best when with company – so running friends are by far and away the most important part for me. A good bra and something to keep my my hair out of my face are pretty high up there on the need scale, too!
My son asked for a running jacket for Christmas. š I like when they get older and their list goes from video game consoles to jackets. Hubby and I high-fived each other on that one. š
Music is so important! It keeps me focused.
That is a really great giveaway. I’m not a fan of running though but would totally run with these prizes. š
Clothes, I guess! I don’t wear a watch or carry my phone or anything, but I definitely need my beloved tried and true running clothes.
My sunglasses. š
Gosh. I would have said my watch (or time) but recently ran a half without. Would have said music, but my shuffle wouldn’t work in same race. I’ve been running so long, I guess I can weather about anything. (Famous last words right?) This looks like an awesome stash.
