Saturday mornings.
We started the day how we like to – just lounging around. Our only real plans didn’t start until after 4:00, so we had the majority of the day to do whatever we liked.
There was breakfast (which for my daughter lasted an hour – sometimes she’s like feeding a bottomless pit!) And there were cartoons. There was even a Saturday morning bath time. The toddler really wanted yogurt, and she’s in a phase where she doesn’t want help feeding her. So I let her have at it. She had a blast, and it didn’t really hurt anyone….right?
At one point, we rounded everyone up for a trip to our gym. The kids played in the childcare area, while Kenny and I got our workouts on. And that was a first for me – I ran PLUS did a legs workout. I was spent by the time we finished.
And the rest of the day was similar minus a quick Target trip with my boy.
We’re considering letting our son play basketball. The season is only January through March, and I’m waiting to hear back about days of the week, but I know games are on Saturdays. I’m nervous about giving up that day altogether, but at the same time I know he’d love playing on a team. When we asked him about playing, he said, “you mean, play with people other than myself?” Poor kid.
But today? Today was good. Let’s make every day like Saturday.
Oh this does sound like a good day! A perfect combination of relaxation and fun because workouts are totally FUN, right?? I hope it works out for your little guy to play basketball. š
