Saturdays I like

Today has been one of my favorite Saturdays in a while. I did get up and run – in a wind chill of -4. I only ran 6 miles, though, with Suzanne, proving I can run the 10k in two weeks. Oh yeah, I signed up for the Hot Chocolate 10k. Not sure if I mentioned that before.

We spent about 2 1/2 hours grocery shopping, checking out Amazing Savings (a discount organic foods grocery store) in which I was disappointed with. They overcharged us on several produce items, which we didn’t catch until it was too late. They don’t have computers for you to see the prices as they’re ringing them up – I’ll know better next time.

We also spent some time looking for accessories for our Guitar Hero or Rock Band. The husband REALLY wants the drum kit. I may have to buy it on Amazon. We struck out at so many stores.

What I’m most excited about, though, is the bookstore that is going out of business near us (it’s a Waldenbooks.) I got two books for 50% off – a book by Sophie Kinsella (“Twenties Girl”) and “Naturally Thin” by Bethenny Frankel (from Real Housewives of NYC.) Um. I’m SO freaking psyched. I normally wouldn’t buy “Naturally Thin”, but I love Bethenny. And “Twenties Girl” is a hardback – but since it was 50% off, the price was worth it. (I just finished “Remember Me?” by Kinsella last night. SO great!!)

I’m now in the process of cooking dinner (steak – yum!) and I think we’re going to watch tv tonight and stay in. Too cold to head out.

Hope you’re having a great Saturday!

  1. it’s at the Biltmore Square mall, right next to the food court. They have about two weeks left, but you can find pretty awesome deals right now. Everything is at LEAST 50% off – and some stuff is 70% off!

  2. OMG, can I just tell you how much I adore Sophie’s books?!? Was “Remember Me?” not amazing?!? I read it over the summer (well, not technically over the summer, since I couldn’t put it down and finished it in 3 days). Have you read her book “Undomestic Goddess”? It’s one of my favorites! I haven’t read Twenties Girl yet, which surprises me because I was anxiously awaiting it’s release since she announced it last fall.

Glad your saturday was so great! Enjoy the rest of your weekend! šŸ™‚

  3. I LOVED “Remember Me.” I haven’t read “Undomestic Goddess” but it is now on my list to find at Waldenbooks later this week! I need to start on “Twenties Girl.” I’m in the middle of another book by by Madeleine Wickham (Sophie Kinsella is her pen name) and this book is NOT that good. I’m struggling, and very disappointed!

  4. That’s awesome…i have been reading and watching some of Bethany’s recipes…sounds interesting! Yippee for the 10K practice run-you’re gonna do awesome!
