sewing project: the ottoman

Amy Butler has a pattern for a gumdrop pillow – an 18 inch pillow, or a 24 inch pillow. Check out the photos on her website, though. They aren’t small pillows. They’re gigantic, and I decided (last summer) to make the larger “pillow” but to use it as an ottoman downstairs.

And now that we’re without a theme for the baby’s room, I think I’m going to incorporate the ottoman into the nursery. (We’re also putting a rocking chair in the nursery – not a glider – and I think this will make a nice footrest.)

I’ve worked on it a couple of evenings this week and tonight I really got to work on it. I’ve almost completed it, but I ran out of stuffing (which is amazing since the bag of pillow stuffing I had could fit a couple of bodies in it.)

So after a quick run to Foam & Fabric tomorrow, McLittle will have an ottoman for his room.

Pictures to come. I’m pretty excited about this one. šŸ™‚
