Shamrock Run update
We set out to run the Shamrock Run this morning. I was doing the 10k (with my friend Suzanne) while Kenny was running the 5k (with our friend Brandon.)
The 10k is for insane people. The first 3 miles are straight. up. hill. (I know uphill should be one word, but that just gave it more of an effect, I believe.) Up a freaking mountain.
And it was raining.
And it was 38 degrees outside.
I ran this race in it’s inaugural year, in 2007. I swore to never do it again, but Suzanne had already signed up for it and I gave in and signed up.
I really don’t think I’ll do it again.
My legs are killing me (like days I run over 10 miles) and I’m exhausted.
I finished in 1 hour, 2 minutes. Not terrible for this race. There wasn’t a big turnout of runners and very little support on the course.
Meanwhile, Kenny finished 18th overall in the 5k and he ran it in under 26 minutes. Can’t remember his exact time. Again, pretty good for him. He also finished 3rd in his age group!
A few photos…
Suzanne and me at the finish. We agreed to finish together š We also ran at a pace we could talk to each other. Not a bad race!
Kenny’s in the middle, and this was as he was finishing. He beat both of those people.

Great job and love the pics! š Brrr that is chilly and with rain, boo! š Glad you toughed it out though.
