shopping and baking and cleaning…oh my.

This day was filled with shopping and baking, and a little cleaning in between.

We woke up at a reasonable time (a little before 8 on a Saturday is very reasonable – you don’t waste the day away in bed, and it’s not 6 a.m.) and I had all types of plans to get some shopping done. I had several coupons I needed wanted to use and the expired soon. I was pretty excited about my shopping date with myself.

Until I had to try on the clothes. Motherhood Maternity and I are not friends. But, Kohls and I? We’re BFFs. (I found one great shirt, which is super cute, and I got it for $3.23 after the two coupons I had.)

Bath & Body Works started their semi-annual sale a day or two ago, and there’s an additional coupon you can print online – $10 off of $40. Considering you can get all types of stuff for $3 (or less – kitchen soaps for $1.25? Yes, please.) the coupon was great. I found several things for gifts, and stocked up on kitchen soap. I bought very little for myself – I definitely showed restraint today.

After my shopping excursion, I came home and baked a blueberry cobbler. YUM. I took it to our friend’s birthday party this evening and it went over very well – and I brought leftovers home. (I left before most of the guests, and I was not about to leave it!)

My house is in pretty good shape after cleaning between the shopping and baking and partying. That means I can spend tomorrow at a graduation party and/or salvaging what’s left of our garden.

Good times. And a good Saturday.

  1. I got some good nursing shirts from Motherhood, so don’t give up on them yet…
I used up all my blueberries from last summer just a few weeks ago. Hopefully my parents will have another bumper crop!
Good luck with the garden! šŸ™‚
