shrink yo’self: week 5
It’s another check-in time with Sisterhood of the Shrinking Jeans.
This week wasn’t one of my better weeks. I’ve made friends with the vending machine at work (again) and I kind of fell out of the work week exercise routine. Poor decisions all around. I’ve been better the past two days, but still not 100% great.
Let’s face it. I’m never going to be on my game 100% of the time.
Exercise during the week is tough for me, even with working out after the baby goes to sleep. I’m so worn out by the time I put him down at 7:30. All I want to do is watch tv from the comfort of my couch. I’m working on this.
Dinners have been great. All planned out, with one outing to a restaurant (or, in our case usually, someone grabs dinner and brings it back to the house.) This Friday we’re trying a new Chinese restaurant in our area – they have a “diet” menu, which means they steam the food, rather than fry it.
Half marathon training:
I ran 5 miles on Saturday. My legs stopped hurting today. That’s how out of shape I am! Actually, the 5 miles felt great while I was actually running. I met up with a friend (kind of late – 8:30 in the morning) and we averaged 11:30 minute miles. Not too shabby, considering the hills we’re dealing with! I have another 5-miler on the schedule for this Saturday.
Where I am for week 5:
I’m up .2 pounds from last week. A total loss of 3.6 pounds for this month. It could have been SO much worse.

Awesome job! .2 is not really a gain in the grand scheme of things! And a 5 mile run is super!
