single-life weekend
The husband made the trip to Lake Waccamaw this weekend, as he had a half marathon to run on Sunday. I was planning on going, but seeing how I had a ton of stuff to get ready before my trip next Friday and there was a lot of work stuff I needed to babysit, I had to back out.
I got so much done on Friday night – hanging a cabinet door, nailing a step back together, random errands and even dressed the cat up for Halloween. And then my productivity tanked. Sure, I managed to do grocery shopping and run a few other shopping errands. I even swept the entire house (quite a feat since we brought Chloe into the house almost 8 months ago!) But I haven’t done what I really wanted to do. Like insulate the garage (I know, it sounds crazy, but I really thought I could do it.)
I’m happy to report that my legs are no longer twitching. And I’m not as sore as I thought I’d be in the day (and two days) following an 18-mile run.
Halloween night was spent with one of my best friends, watching Sex and the City (the movie) and drinking daquiris, while her husband and daughter went trick-or-treating in the neighborhood. We handed out candy to the trick-or-treaters at their house š Sunday was spent resting, shopping, sweeping and raking. With just a little bit of website work thrown in there for good measure.
The husband returns later today and then I’m back to my normal life before I disrupt it again with trips up and down the east coast. (To Philadelphia on Friday and to Tampa, Florida on Sunday.) I’m afraid this is just what our schedules are looking like for the next two months.
Oh, and I realized this weekend that I’m not cut out for the single-life behavior. I have no idea how I managed before….
