Sky Bar and sunsets
Last night, the husband and I ventured out to downtown Asheville for dinner. I wanted to check out the Sky Bar, for some reason, so we decided Early Girl was a good dinner option, and then we could hit up the Sky Bar just in time for the sunset. (The Sky Bar is a bar on basically a fire escape. You go through an almost hidden entrance and a guy takes you up in an elevator, and you have three balconies to roam around. Their drinks aren’t particularly great, and they’re SUPER expensive.)
It rained briefly over West Asheville before we went to dinner, and there was an amazing fog over the mountains. We actually live in this area (only 3 miles from downtown).
Of course, a self-portrait.
We had their sunset mimosas (for $8/drink, this was the special. Thankfully, it was more champagne than anything else. And it wasn’t a good mixture of champagne and orange juice. I think there might have been grapefruit juice in it?)
Someone was finished with his mimosa already:
Pretty:
And on the right-side of this photo, you can see the Grove Arcade, and my work building is just behind it.
We had a good time, and like the old people we pretend to be, we were home early. We can’t afford to frequent the Sky Bar often, so I think we’ll stick to going once a year or maybe when family/friends come into town. It’s definitely a special occasion kind of place, and the views are kind of worth it.
(Oh, and this is my 999th blog post. I had to have something of substance and not completely waste it. Check back tomorrow. I have something fun planned for 1000.)
Awww, Asheville is just gorgeous!!! Love that place š
YUM to those Mimosa’s!

These are beautiful pictures! Glad you enjoyed the view even if the drinks were fantastic.
oh that is soo pretty…what a beautiful view. Sucks about the expensive non-awesome drinks…at least you had good company.
