Snow day on a Saturday!

Good afternoon! I had intentions of waking early and writing today, but my son had other plans. It started snowing yesterday afternoon and he was beside himself waiting for the snow storm to really hit. The snow had mostly stopped in the evening, but started again when he was going to bed. We woke to a winter wonderland!

Of course he woke up at 6:30, calling for me and asking if it was time to go outside and play.

My answer was no and I somehow got him to stay in bed until 7:15. (This wouldn’t have been so terrible if I hadn’t been up at 4:15 with the baby.)

He went out twice this morning – once I was able to leave him in the back yard to play by himself. The baby has been outside for about 7 minutes total. The windchill is 2 degrees, and she really has no business being out there.

Earlier in the week I mentioned my running goal and maintaining a running streak this month (and hopefully much longer!) I couldn’t run in 6+ inches of snow, but I did take a 1.4-mile walk in the neighborhood! So technically my streak is one week (so far) and I’m well on my way to meeting my 50 mile goal for the month.

My husband, being the genius he normally is, took our son to the video store (we still have a few in Asheville) yesterday and came home with 6 or 7 movies. Lucas was adamant he was NOT TIRED, yet he’s sleeping across the room on the couch. I think I just heard the baby starting to make noises too.

I started a decluttering challenge yesterday, so I’ve been working on that sporadically (which is the whole point of the challenge.) I’ve already made great headway and it’s day two. I ditched 30 items yesterday and today’s goal is 29 items. The goal is to not get super burnt out on decluttering by the end of it, and this way I won’t.

And that’s our Saturday. It’s been a great Saturday and I wish we had more weekends like this (but I also don’t want to be snowed in for days at a time. I’m still not over the 5-day snow-in of 2016.)

  1. I love the idea of a decluttering challenge! We had a snow day yesterday and it was so awesome! We took R out, but she wasn’t really into it. I had the most fun running around in the yard throwing snowballs šŸ™‚
