so, where was I?
Oh yeah. A week ago I tried to download my pictures only to find out the files were corrupted. That sucked.
In the last two weeks, we’ve managed to stay busy. Hillary Clinton was back in town (I didn’t get to see her in person, helped out from the office) and Michelle Obama came to Asheville the same day (I did get to cover her event.) It was a busy day. The night before that I had seen Gary Pfaff (briefly) and the night of Michelle’s visit to UNCA, we went to see Ingrid Michaelson at the Orange Peel.
I don’t think I ever blogged about my interview with Ingrid…it wasn’t good. She has such awesome stage presence, and I had such high hopes…and I was let down. Well, once again, her show was amazing and I was let down when I spoke to her. Even Kenny was disappointed. We’re going to see her again next month, but I think we’ll head out before we have the chance to say hello.
May 2 was a big day for us. Not only did I work 14.5 hours, and we saw Ingrid, but we also got a Wii! Needless to say, we haven’t gotten out of the house much since that fateful evening…
Last Monday, I was lucky enough to see Stephen Kellogg open for Hanson. The lucky part was Stephen’s set. I left during Hanson’s fourth song (I also shot photos for the newspaper.)
Fast forward to the current weekend (the week wasn’t so great – I’d rather forget about it)…we had NO plans! It was FANTASTIC!!!
We’ve been working on cleaning out our bedroom and making it into a “sanctuary.” (The book’s term, not mine.) It’s been kind of fun š Today I even worked like a crazy person on a freelance site. Hopefully, this will put me five steps closer to being finished with it. I’m more than caught up on my work and I won’t have to stress so much to work on it after my “real job” this week.
Kenny and I have started running again too. He’s going to run a 5k next month. My next big race is the Citizen-Times half marathon in September. I don’t have many huge goals for myself at the moment…
Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there. I made cards for the moms in my life, but it seems that my mom is the only one who received hers on time and I had to hand deliver that one. So. Hopefully I will get it right next year!
Off to bed. Monday morning comes really fast…
do you EVER have a day where you do nothing???:)
