I officially survived my first work-week back after winter break. Oh how I miss winter break.

Stream of Consciousness - free writing.

I rocked this week, though. I have a series of events planned in Florida just 5 weeks from now, and I think all of my accommodations are in place. It’s a lot of planning and it made my head spin for a few days, but I am feeling better about things now. Good things.

I was checking out local venues this week and noticed several concerts I want to attend. I used to attend so many shows. I miss my concert-going days, but it’s pricey and they tend to be late. I have to be at work early. I just can’t hang like I used to be able to.

I just realized my nails are a hot mess. I took off some Jamberry wraps earlier in the week (because I was tired of them after 10 days.) I painted my nails, and the polish was fine until Friday afternoon. So the polish lasted a whopping day and a half. It’s totally a first world problem, but such an annoying one.

A friend shared a video for Colbie Caillat’s video to “Try” yesterday. I’m hooked. I downloaded the album because I’ve been meaning to do that for a while. The whole album is awesome, and this video is a must-watch, if you haven’t seen it yet.

This post got pretty random. I’m only half sorry for that. I hope your weekend is fabulous!

Welcome back to another week of Stream of Consciousness Saturday. This is the time where I spend 5 minutes free writing. I usually post this for Saturday morning, but sometimes that just doesn’t happen. It’s totally fine.

Want to participate? The rules….

1. Set a timer for five minutes. (Or keep tabs with your computer’s clock.)

2. Write freely. Any topic. Whatever is on your mind. It doesn’t even have to be completely cohesive.

3. Tag on social media with #SOCSaturday or #SOCSunday and link up below. You have all day Saturday and Sunday to join the link up. It closes Monday morning.

4. Click around and give some comment/blog love.

  1. I’m so out of the loop sometime. I’ve never even heard this song, but this video is absolutely amazing. I love it! Also, I hate nail polish. I just give up and stick with buffing my nails. It sounds like you’re back into your routine. That’s great to hear. Hope to see you soon.

  2. I love those Jamberry wraps, but I have acrylic nails, so I can’t use them. One day when I get them off I am trying them for sure.

  3. I good with the 5 minute free styling it is making sense that gets me every time. I was given some of those Jamberry wraps for a gift and I haven’t used them yet because I am afraid at how hard they are got get off again. That and I have been recently wearing my nails very short because of the babies. Oh well maybe next Christmas!

    1. I do love the Jamberry wraps. The come off with nail polish remover, and as long as you use enough remover, they’ll slide off with no problems. Otherwise, they break my nails if I don’t use enough. Right now I’m trying to let my nails breathe a little more. (Totally first world problem, I KNOW!) 🙂

  4. This is right up my alley I been meaning to write 30 post this month but I love the idea of doing this. This song really speaks to me at the moment.
I’m going to put my link up. Thanks so much for sharing this and being open. I love bloggers who can open up makes me want to read the other post they share.

  5. I love your random thoughts. It sounds like you totally did rock this week. My nails are always a hot mess so I don’t feel so bad now. I will have to check this video out tomorrow when I can turn up the speakers without waking the rest of my family up.

  6. I used to do this when I was writing a lot of fiction, for blogging, I don’t find it helps me much because I have things really planned out. But with fiction writing, it helps me to get rid of the blogging world so I can creatively make stuff up.
