I could use a week off to do nothing but get caught up on chores around my house and regroup. I love our travels. If Lucas’ nap isn’t interrupted, then he’s really a trooper and loves traveling. (We had a moment on Wednesday where he wasn’t super happy – a result of a 20-minute car nap.)
We are booked every weekend until the end of May. I don’t know how I let that happen. It’s fun stuff, but there are more travels, races, conferences, events planned every week. It’s a little overwhelming to look at my calendar.
One of the things I dislike the most about vacations is the drive home. This trip was so short time-wise, so the 7 hour drive home is intense! We’re making that trip today, in order to avoid driving on Easter. (Things are closed, and we spend Easter at church. Plus, I need a day to get my stuff together before heading back to work on Monday.)
Speaking of Easter, Lucas keeps talking about looking for eggs that have chicks in them. He also wants a “chick basket” for Easter. I managed to find a basket. I have plastic eggs and I’ll hide them either late tonight or sometime tomorrow afternoon. Lucas will get his Easter egg hunt if it’s the last thing I do this weekend.
One final mention of Easter…I don’t eat eggs. We’ve never dyed eggs with Lucas, and I’m afraid that once we do, we’ll be looking for recipes for eggs. And I just don’t like them. Next year may be the year that we begin dyeing them. We’ll see.
What are your Easter traditions?
