Stream of Consciousness: Young friends – week 48 #SOC #blogging #freewriting
Good morning! We’re visiting friends in Chattanooga this weekend. We drove down yesterday afternoon and will be home before many people even read this (I know a lot of people don’t read these posts on the weekend.) I do hope you’re enjoying your weekend!
Our friends have two boys. One is just a few months older than our boy. They’ve been playing together non-stop since we arrived. There have been a few fights, but for the most part we just let them work it out. Their arguments last about 20 seconds, and there have been just a couple. (Which, for a boy sharing his toys with another boy he’s not used to, this is huge.)
It’s so fun watching the kids together.
Our boy starts a new preschool program in two weeks. He’s been in a daycare since he was 4 months old, but he’s never been with kids his age. I think he’s going to excel in a preschool setting. He claims he will have 6 friends – 3 boys and 3 girls. He’ll also tell you he doesn’t know his friends names yet.
I think young friends are the best friends.
Yay for a new preschool! I’m so excited about this and can’t wait to hear all about it. I hope you had so much fun in Chattanooga. I hear it’s such a fun and beautiful city. I haven’t been since I was very young and would love to go back. Safe travels home!
I do love seeing little ones play together. Those early friendships can be the most fun ones – if they last long enough to turn into something powerful and true. <3
