I was trying to think of what I was going to write (my thoughts have been blank when it came to this week’s #SOC.) I’m on the couch and Chloe was insisting on being right next to me – but close to the arm of the couch. She has laid on my keyboard, tried to climb up my back – whatever she can do to get closer. She’s finally against my side, on my lap and doesn’t seem to be bothered that my arm is over her as I type.

She’s clearly neglected.

We were so worried about how Chloe would react 4 years ago when we brought our boy home. She’s done so well with him. He loves to play with her toys, and at her ripe age of 10(ish – she was an adult cat when we adopted her) she has taken a liking to her mouse, cat nip toys and a fishing pole toy. The past couple of weeks I’ve found her playing with various toys he has left for her and I’m surprised that she’s still playful.

She loves sleeping on his bed when he isn’t around. He is tickled to death when she is in his bed when he’s reading at bedtime. (This doesn’t last long because he starts bouncing around.)

Chloe is a tapper. She likes to tap you for attention and show you where to pet her – and she has started doing this to the 4-year-old. It takes him by surprise because sometimes her claws come out by accident. She just wants a little more attention from her buddy.

She’s fiercely loyal to me still. She sleeps next to me every night and she wants to be on me constantly. She’s the best kind of cat. We’re lucky we found her and that adopted us. 🙂
