Stream of Consciousness: The week of Type-A {week 66} #SOC #freewriting #blogging #typeacon
This week I’ve been at Type-A Conference. I love these conferences. It’s a great chance for me to catch up with some of my closest friends I only see once or twice a year. (And right now, we don’t have a plan for the next time we’re going to see each other. Type-A is moving to Disney next year and we aren’t all planning on attending.)
I spoke yesterday. I opened with the fact that my slides were not really for note-taking, but more bullet points for me….and on the second slide, the presentation decided to stop working. Thank goodness my talk was really all about me talking and answering questions and less about spewing information on the screen.
When I talked to the husband and boy yesterday, the boy asked “did you get my toy yet?” Silly boy. (And a friend is giving me the Transformer from her bag, as I had received something that wasn’t really for a 4-year-old boy.) He’s very excited and demanded I come home RIGHT. NOW.
I do miss my boys.
I thought I’d get so much sleep this week, and it’s been the opposite. I rested a lot on Thursday, but I slept poorly Wednesday night and I really haven’t slept through the night while I’ve been in Atlanta. It’s odd. Normally I have no sleep issues.
Just one more day and I’ll be back in my home, with my family (and my cat!) and my own bed. I wonder if I’m just not sleeping because I don’t have my cat beside me? I bet that’s it.
(p.s. Total shout-out Julie who was sitting next to me as I typed most of this.) š
Your presentation ROCKED even without your slides working. So glad I got to hug you A LOT this weekend š
hope you are sleeping better now that you back home!
