It’s only Saturday morning and we’ve already attended one birthday party this weekend, we have one play date set up for later this morning and a slew of other things on the weekend agenda.

Stream of Consciousness - free writing.

We attended our first birthday party held at Chuck E. Cheese. The preschooler had a blast. I had a good time talking to the other moms. My husband spent almost two hours running around after our boy. We went to CEC a couple of years ago (my husband’s choice over Father’s Day weekend, of all times and places to go.) When we last went it was lunchtime and not as chaotic. Last night? All chaos. All the noise.

My boy wants to go back. I told him it would be a long, long time before we went back there.

We’re supposed to get cooler temperatures this weekend, along with rain and possibly some snow. (I KNOW. It was just in the 70s this week!) The heat has kicked back on in our house, and I’ve planned a play date with a friend and her kids at the play area in the mall. I know it’s going to be a madhouse, but the space is large and contained, and my kid loves it. I won’t have to worry about running after him, which is nice.

I have a couple of projects I HAVE to finish this weekend. A few are blogging related, a couple are preschool related. Oh, and one thing would be taxes. Yuck. All tight deadlines and I don’t want things to fall through the cracks. I’ve also been getting my energy up to prepare freezer meals. It’s all a little daunting. Especially for someone who really just wants to nap the day away.

Of course all of this is being done while we work little by little to prep the nursery for this baby’s arrival. I hope she’s not too anxious to arrive. Maybe she’ll be a little stubborn like her brother, who decided not to come until a week after his due date. Although, I’d appreciate it if she wasn’t TOO stubborn.

  1. Oh, CEC. I agree on all accounts, and every time our boys ask when we’re going back, I say the exact same thing. šŸ˜‰ I hope sweet girls stays in there the right amount of time, so you can get everything accomplished but are also not having to wait around on her. I’m excited for you guys!
