sometimes it’s sunny in Philadelphia
Our day started at 4:00 with my alarm. We checked the flights and ours said it was on time. We took the 4:30 shuttle over to the airport, only to find out that all flights were canceled until after noon. At this point, we started chatting with the girl in line in front of us (who had the most adorable dog, a miniature dachshund.) She had been in the airport since Saturday at 9:30 a.m., waiting on a flight, and had a number for us to call and get a new flight out.
So here I sit at 2:15 p.m. We’re waiting for a flight to Pittsburg, which is at 3:35. We should be in Asheville by 11:40. (We have another layover in Charlotte.)
The day has been kind of fun. The girl in front of us decided we were fun enough to spend 10 hours in an airport with. We’ve had breakfast and lunch together, played with Zoe, the dog, and helped each other out whenever possible.
For the most part, the airport really has been nice. I realized that we couldn’t get angry this morning. I do have more pictures to share of what the runways looked like as they were cleaning them off. We had one woman behind us in tears because she was supposed to get married tomorrow in the Caribbean. Another woman was yelling at people on the phone. It was unfair to the employees, and I’m really glad that I was nice with the people I had to talk to.
Oh, and Santa just walked by. Yep, it’s been fun!
