I’m always up for a good deal. I’m also ALWAYS up for a good vacation. The husband and I try to take a trip – whether it’s a week or a weekend away – each year. We took a weekend trip to New York City last month. Last year, we hit up the beach in April and two years ago we visited Savannah, Georgia for a couple of days. I’ve already approached him about a vacation next summer. It’s never too early to start planning, right?

When we booked our honeymoon (just five years ago!) we spent months online looking for the best rates, rooms, locations. We ended up at an all-inclusive resort in the Bahamas for just a fraction of our wedding budget. (Our entire budget was $5000. It was quite impressive, if I do say so myself…) Once we decided to go somewhere tropical, I remember spending so much time on deals sites, comparing resorts and hotels and trying to remember which site was the cheaper option. Add in the hidden costs, and it all can become a headache.
Enter Room 77. This website allows you to do a search as you would on other deal websites, but it pulls prices from those websites – so you’re not having to move from site to site to compare prices of hotels in your destination city. I did a search for Savannah, Georgia hotels. We visited Savannah a few years ago, and loved it. I searched by all of the things that were important to me: the city, special rates (we have a AAA membership and AAA hotel discounts are definitely helpful) and hotels with free wifi. I’m not one to normally pay for wi-fi if I am staying in a hotel.
On my first search, Room 77 shows me the more popular places. I decided to throw in hotels with free breakfast. I’m all about saving even more money, and I can do that by not having to pay extra for breakfast. The search is quickly updated, eliminating a few hotels.
I like that Room 77 puts it all out there as far as who has the best price (whether it’s their site, or another website) and if rooms are sold out on other sites. Actually, this is one of my favorite features about the website. Do you know how much time I could have saved five years ago by not having to click from site to site to search for rooms – and compare each room to the other sites, just so I could get the best deal? So much time, and my time is valuable.
After all of this searching and planning, I’m ready to book a trip to Savannah! How about you?
