staying on task

For the past week or so, I’ve been creating lists for myself – at work, at home, wherever. And the lists have helped immensely over the past two days. We’re not drowning in a mess of our house (because I’ve managed to clean during the the family chaos) and I’m getting stuff done.

My class is almost finished. I’ve learned a lot, but I feel like I’ve missed out on a lot with this class too. I’ve printed everything out from the past six weeks (it’s an online course) and plan on re-reading everything this week. I still have to take the final, but I’m at least done with the classes.

Our garden is coming right along. It’s amazing how it’s taking over. People have commented on the garden – neighbors who have never spoken to us before are stopping by to tell us that they’ve been checking it out. I’m pretty proud of it, and it makes me feel good when I see people trying to see what we’re growing. (The garden is on the inside of our fenced in backyard, right next to the road.) I need to share photos…and maybe I will tomorrow? I took some tonight.

My mom has been my main hook-up for plants this year. She left several shade plants for me to take when she went out of town last week. I finally planted them tonight (because I added them to my list of things to do today!) They look great along the stone wall on our driveway. I killed some stuff in that spot last year, because the flowers needed more sun. Here’s hoping these plants live. (Check out my photo blog to see what I planted.)

I want a domain name for this blog. Something easy to remember, and something that isn’t blogspot. I just don’t know what I’m going to go with. Domain fees increase on Thursday, so I feel like I should act quickly. I’ve been thinking about it for a while…

I’m kind of addicted to domain names. I own at least 10. People collect things. I collect domain names, apparently.

I have to pack. Chloe’s going to have a fit when she sees the suitcase come upstairs. I wish we could train her to be a traveling cat.

I got more done at work today than I have in an entire week. It felt awesome. I got into some crazy groove and just did a ton of work. I hope tomorrow is the same way.

I need to create more lists.

Are you a list maker?

  1. The coleus you planted should grow rapidly, if not rampantly. It will get sooo… pretty in the fall. Give my love to Kenny & his family.
