Stream of Consciousness – week 25 #SOCSaturday #blogging #freewriting
Winter break. Two of my favorite words and it’s becoming my most favorite time of year.
I started my winter break off with lunch with my former supervisor. I visited some of my former colleagues. It was a good time. And I realized just how much I love my current job.
I don’t head home with the same feelings of stress and dread. There are few things (Homecoming being one) that keep me up at night or wake me up at 3 a.m. I’m so fortunate.
And the time off at Christmas and New Years doesn’t hurt, either.
I have plans with other friends over break.I have errands to take care of, things I can’t done when I work 30 minutes from downtown. But there will be relaxing, traveling and exercising too. I have to get my fun in somewhere, right?
My son is getting excited about this time of year. I don’t think he quite grasps Christmas Day yet. I think he’s enjoying everything leading up to the day, though. (And presents haven’t even crossed his mind unless we ask him directly.)
It really is a wonderful time of year. Now to get on with the relaxing part of the break…

Welcome back to another week of Stream of Consciousness Saturday. This is the time where I spend 5 minutes free writing. I usually post this for Saturday morning, but sometimes that just doesn’t happen. It’s totally fine.
Want to participate? The rules….
1. Set a timer for five minutes. (Or keep tabs with your computer’s clock.)
2. Write freely. Any topic. Whatever is on your mind. It doesn’t even have to be completely cohesive.
3. Tag on social media with #SOCSaturday or #SOCSunday and link up below. You have all day Saturday and Sunday to join the link up. It closes Monday morning.
4. Click around and give some comment/blog love.
Yay! I bet you are SO excited about a break. That is definitely a perk of working in the university system. Now all of the McKee’s can have a little break together. Maybe even we can get together after Christmas for lunch and talk life, blogging and parenting. Talk to you soon!
Ahhh! Break time! Enjoy you, you’ve earned it!
Break time is so very nice. We have been doing lighter days in homeschool all last week (and took a break in the middle of one to go see The Hobbit) and I slept in this weekend. It was all very enjoyable. I’m glad you are having fun and relaxation, too.
winter break sounds wonderful! we get thursday/friday off.
i need to go ahead and write my post for next weekend. i’ve been slacking off about getting it done.
