Super easy, very fast salsa recipe

This post may include affiliate links and I may earn commission if you make a purchase through these links.

I made salsa for the first time last weekend. It was easy (as in, why hadn’t I made this before?) and it took maybe 15 minutes to chop everything? Maybe.

I called my mom and asked her what I needed, when I was in the grocery store. I had to pick up the onion, pepper, cilantro and lime. I had tomatoes to use before they went too bad and I had my first jalapeno to pick. (I have many more now. There will probably be more salsa in our future.)

My husband liked this, and I loved it. It definitely has a kick. I used the entire jalapeno. Thankfully I didn’t use two!

Some of my ingredients:

And since it was a success, I thought I’d share my super easy, fast salsa recipe with you!

Super easy, very fast salsa
Author: Jaime McKee

Ingredients
  • ½ cup of green bell pepper (this is approximately ½ of a pepper.)
  • 2-3 tomatoes, diced. (I used one large, one medium from my garden.)
  • 1 cup white onion, chopped
  • ¼ cup chopped cilantro
  • 1 jalapeno
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp pepper
  • Juice of one lime
Instructions
  1. Chop or dice your tomatoes, bell pepper, onion, jalapeno, garlic and cilantro. Mix in a medium-sized bowl. Add salt and pepper. Squeeze the juice of the lime over the chopped mixture. Mix well. Enjoy!

This is an easy recipe and it looks like it is packed with flavor. I think it will be a big hit at the next family dinner or outdoor event.

This is very similar to the salsa that I use and I make it every few days. We go through salsa like crazy but it is such a great way to add flavor to many foods.

This looks so great and I love the option of making it out of my own garden stuff! Sounds like a great night for nachos, salsa and margarita’s! Thanks for the tip I pinned it to FOOD-Appetizers, sauces and mixes.

I’ve never made it before either, but there is something about homemade salsa that is just so good.

I love this recipe. The kids love when I just blend it all up because they don’t like chunky salsa. My little one loves spicy salsa. She’s brave. Obviously nothing like me LOL 🙂

Your dad is super smart! I wanted to save on having to drag out the food processor and then wash all of the parts. 🙂 (In the end, I loved the chunky salsa.)

Those tomatoes look gigantic and beautiful! Tomatoes are kind of my favorite so this entire post was up my alley. I love fresh salsa.

This will sound terrible but I never even thought about making my own salsa. I use it in Gumbos so it would be great to have a fresh homemade batch to add. Thanks for the tip.

I love salsa, but have never made my own. I think I prefer a mild salsa because my body can’t really handle spicy foods much anymore.

Salsa any time of year is great, but I especially love it in the summer when all the veggies are local and fresh. Yum!

What a great salsa recipe! I absolutely love salsa, we have a restaurant we have been going to for years and my spouse yells at me to just use a spoon instead of a tiny piece of chip (you know, to keep it low carb!). And I love cilantro!
    thanks,
