Lots of things from today…
Saw an old friend, Tara, at lunch. Tara helped me with Take 5 Music and it’s launch back in the day, and has since moved onto bigger and better things in Washington, D.C. I miss her now that she doesn’t live in Asheville, but am soooo happy we at least got to meet up for lunch (and now I know to never order a “salad” from Carmel’s in downtown Asheville. It’s literally a quarter of a head of lettuce. I can buy that from the grocery store for $1 – and get the whole head of lettuce.)
We took a look at a house this afternoon and it wasn’t a total bust. I now know more about what we’re looking for. (The house we really, really wanted to see was under contract. We lost out.)
I did not run today. I feel good about that. I’ll run tomorrow, take Friday off and then run my race on Saturday.
I started back on Weight Watchers last week. I went by there today and have lost 4.2 pounds. I’ve already reached the goal they set for me years ago. Love it. The woman said she doesn’t recall anyone reaching their goal that quickly. She’s obviously never met someone who had a mouth as sore as mine. I’ve given up on food…
And just when I thought I had given up on food, I ordered dinner from Chilis. Yay for soft french fries. Here comes the 4.2 pounds.
After the race on Saturday, I’m taking about two weeks off and then (possibly) running in a race with MHC at the end of this month. For real. I’ll be one of the “old” people running at the meet. I’m a little excited about it.
I interviewed two very cool bands today. Stories to run next week and the week after. With podcasts.
How do you like all of the links I’m using tonight?
I’m going to see Stephen Kellogg tomorrow night. Remember my post about how wonderful he is? He really is that wonderful. And I get to see him. Live. Tomorrow.
Such a wonderful week this should turn out to be.
