I’m not going to lie. I’m a little intimidated by some of the preschool moms. I’m a crafty person, I try to make fun treats, but this being my son’s first full year in preschool on top of being pregnant, my motivation is a little lost. Yet these other moms make things happen. (There is the whole mom wars mentality, but we’ll save that for another day, ok?)

Valentine’s Day is going to be MY time to shine, though. I’ve had this idea in my head for weeks – plus I had a lot of random push-up pop containers – so I pulled these treats together for my son’s class. The best part is they are so incredibly easy to do.

Valentine's Candy Push-Up Pops

What you need:
Push-up pop containers
Candy (I used Skittles. Other small candy will also work.)
Labels (I love the chalkboard labels) or washi tape for decoration.

Apparently this is my year to use all the washi tape. I’ve used it multiple times in the past month for various projects.

I had the containers (and a stand!) plus labels, and of course washi tape. All of these items were purchased from Pick Your Plum, but the deals site is so sporadic when they have certain products. You can find them on Amazon (meaning you can order today and have them early next week – just in time to throw some treats together for the big day of love!)

Simply fill the containers, seal and then decorate with washi tape or a label. You don’t even have to do the labels. Kids will love these. You could even add a tag with a fun rainbow message (let’s face it. I’m making these for 4-year-olds. They’ll just be excited over candy!)

And to be even more cheesy, I may end up making some of these for my office mates.

Do you make any Valentine’s Day crafts with your kids? Send me your favorite DIY ideas – I’ll need them for future class projects!

  1. I think most moms don’t have to it together they just make it appear as if they do. I have two toddlers and I am trying to get better at doing crafts with them, but either way we still have fun.

  2. Now that I will be home with my little guy on a full-time basis, I plan on doing lots of crafts with him! … and just in time for Valentine’s Day!
