Team in Training: So close, yet so far away
If you’ve been keeping up with my training and fundraising and everything else that’s been going on, then I applaud you. You’re doing better than I am!
I’m less than a month away from my next full marathon. On December 12, I will be running 26.2 miles to raise awareness for Leukemia & Lymphoma – and I’ve been raising money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society for the past few months for Team in Training.
Many thanks go out to my friends and family members who have supported me either through direct donations or through my dessert party and Pampered Chef party. (Seriously, what better way to raise money, than with a party??)
I’m still $100 away from my goal, though. I have two donations waiting to go through from my company (they were supposed to go through on Monday, but they’re taking forever!) and the donation from Pampered Chef. That will place the money I’ve raised at $1408 and my goal is to raise $1500.
In 2008, I ran in memory of Paxten Mitchell. And truthfully, he’s one of the main reasons I still run. I remember hearing about Paxten in January of 2008 and I think of him often when I run.
I just want there to be a cure for all types of leukemia and lymphoma. All cancer, really.
If you’re able and willing to donate to the cause, you can do so on my Team in Training page. Your donation can help with research. It can also help patients and families learn more about the disease. Most importantly, it may help find a cure.
