Thankful Thursday…beachtime!
It’s Thursday and I haven’t done a Thankful Thursday post in quite some time! So, a few things I’m thankful for today (this week. In general.)
1. The ability to run on the beach this week. I ran two days out of our three (that first day, I did a lot of swimming and walking.) I had a goal of getting a decent sunrise photo and also running on the beach in the morning this summer. I accomplished both this week. Our third morning at the beach, I woke up early, but then I spent time packing so we could get to Charleston at a decent time….which leads me to my next thankful item.
2. Charleston, SC. I’m thankful for a city. And the fact that I’ve visited this city many times since I was in high school. We were able to spend a few hours there yesterday and while it was an oven (ohmyword the heat), we were able to walk around and see several areas I normally don’t get to on foot. Even my toddler had a decent time. When we stopped for lunch, we were seated at a booth on the second floor, with a window overlooking the market. He had a blast looking out and seeing the carriage horses ride by.
3. My family. We’ve not taken a vacation as just the three of us before. We only had a short vacation alone (Sunday – Wednesday), but it was fun. We had our moments. The toddler got overtired, or the pool was closed for reasons beyond our control (which an almost-3-year-old does NOT understand and therefore throws a fit.) But overall, we had a good time relaxing on the beach, playing in the pool and playing in the kids play area.
4. Now I’m thankful that we’re within walking distance of the lake. It’s calming and I like walking and running alongside the lake. I’m hoping tomorrow brings better weather and we can do some running.
