Thankful Thursday: Little Things

I’m linking up with Tamara today. She’s been posting a weekly series of topics and this one kind of coincided with a Thankful Thursday post I was going to force myself to do.

This week’s question: What are some small things you are grateful for?

My son has been sick most of this week and last night he did. not. sleep. well. Right now I’m grateful that he’s feeling better (proof would be how he ran literal circles around me as I made breakfast and lunches this morning.) He was up until 3 hours past his bedtime last night – just playing in his bed. I think I may have fallen asleep before him. And I think he had bad dreams this morning, because he was up before 6 a.m. yelling about someone taking his birthday cake.

I’m grateful that he usually sleeps through the night.

I’m also grateful my mom was around to take care of him for the past two days while he fought off a virus. (She also picked him up early on Monday. Way to go, Gamma!)

I have really great friends. I try not to take them for granted. And I have the ability to run (slowly) for long distances without major injury. I’m grateful for no recent injuries.

The other night I had a work event, and my husband had to stay home with sick toddler. It was a sad evening for all of us (I really wanted to take them!) But my husband didn’t complain about having to stay home, me being gone, and having to care for a sick, cranky toddler who only wanted his mommy.

I’m also fortunate to have a super sweet cat. Well, she’s sweet to me. And she mostly tolerates the toddler. And 90% of the time the two of them are a team and love each other.

So there you go. This week I’m thankful for a toddler who is usually healthy and sleeps most nights. A mom who can help with toddler is sick. An understanding husband. Being able to run mostly uninjured and a cat that is amazing.

What are you thankful for this week?

  1. At the moment I am grateful that my cat is allowing me to sleep until 3 am (unlike the 12 midnight when she usually wakes me up. I am also grateful that my Mom-92 in Nov is in great shape-still drives (when I’m not driving her)–does yoga and has more energy then I do!

  2. This week I am grateful that my baby is not getting as sick as she was in the past. It isn’t often that she gets sick so I was very worried that she would again. I am also thankful for the work I have been blessed to get.

  3. Today I’m grateful that my roommate is unharmed after being involved in a car accident just a few hours ago! Now hopefully I can get a good night rest for classes in the morning. I’ll surely be thankful for that too. šŸ™‚

  4. Thank you for linking up!! I love everything you’re grateful for – I can relate to most it seeing as our toddlers are the same age. Whenever Lillie is feeling bad, she only wants her mom (which is sweet but crazy exhausting!) so I’m always happy when the husband steps up.

  5. Sounds like a great list to me. šŸ™‚ I like the idea of writing out a thankful list like this one. I’m glad your little one is doing better.
