Thankful Thursday – spring break!

I was considering not posting today. Yesterday was a mixed bag. Not an awful day, but some unfortunate events occurred. I felt rushed, stressed that the husband was going to be out of town a few days, I have an out of town day trip I am making today and I just don’t have much time. Then I spent an hour connecting a new modem because our internet was out, and finally I managed to slice my thumb on the blade of our blender.

Despite all that, I have a lot of good happening. So let’s focus less on the Ninja Turtles bandaid on my thumb, and more on the positive stuff, shall we?

1. The toddler did so great while running errands with me after work yesterday. After the errands, I took him to the play area at the mall and he had an absolute blast. We also ran into a toddler who used to go to daycare with him and he was infatuated with. (We were SO sad when she started going to a preschool program.) It was fun seeing them play, even if he had a hard time recognizing it was really her!

2. My dad is coming for a visit! We haven’t seen him since July. And Lucas has grown so much since then! This visit happened very suddenly, so I feel a little caught off-guard, but still happy he’s coming.

3. So glad that I managed to clean our guest room some time back, and that it wasn’t in terrible shape for his visit. I just had to wash one blanket, sweep and it’s good to go. That was kind of one of my goals for the year, and it looks like I’m continuing to meet the goal!

4. I have spring break on Monday and Tuesday, and I’m taking Wednesday off. An unexpected vacation! It didn’t even dawn on me when I accepted my current job that even a portion of spring break would apply to me. So excited about it!

What are you thankful for this week?

  1. way to find the silver lining! oh I would love to have a guest room, but I guess i need a scrap room more šŸ˜‰ if it was bigger I could double-duty it, but alas, it is not. šŸ™‚ I am thankful for the earlier sunrises! its such a great way to start the day after a 3 mile walk inside the high school, to come out & see the start of the day.
