I’m finally back in the groove of running. I’ve completed my fifth (and maybe final?) full marathon. Now what?
Now it’s time to train for a half marathon! I’m signed up for the Nike Womens DC Half in April. This will be my first visit to Washington, DC and I’m signed up for the race with Carol and Melissa. I’m so lucky to live in a city full of great running partners! (There is NO way I would have gotten through my long run training or the marathon without the help of Suzanne!)
So I’m counting on these two to keep me going on Saturdays. We won’t be running nearly as early (6 a.m.? Not any time soon!) and we won’t be running nearly as far. Our longest run may be a 12-miler sometime in the next 7 weeks.
I know we’ll have fun, though. I’ll be clearing space off my phone for race day because I want to photograph everything possible in DC. I want to experience a Nike race, and I hear they put on a great race.
This will be an inaugural event (what is it with me and inaugural races this year?), so hopefully there won’t be too many glitches.
I’m excited. And I’ll be updating you all weekly on our training. Long live the training Tuesday posts!
