Is anyone else having a tough 2019? This year has not been turning out as I had initially hoped, and I’m hoping that I can turn it around soon. My household is well (finally), but not before we had to deal with a mild case of chickenpox. And as I type this, we have someone down with a stomach bug, but hopefully that is short-lived.
I can’t even make this stuff up.
This is going to be a little different than my normal Things I’m Loving posts. A little life update, combined with what I’m digging.
I ran a 5k on Saturday and surprisingly felt really good! It was pretty windy, but a really good, fast course.
This weekend we were invited to several parties and we would up at a friend’s birthday gathering – a sushi-making party! I’m a fan of sushi, but I’ve never made it before. Now I’m a huge fan of making sushi! It was relatively easy and I am already thinking I need to make sushi at home.
And my daughter is turning 3 in just a few weeks. I don’t know how this is possible, and I’ve been keeping up with her monthly photos, but that will change after she’s 3. I didn’t do the monthly pics for my son at that point, so I will probably let those photos kind of go away.
So, what am I loving this month?
The Libby app and my newly renewed library card. Last month, I was about halfway through Michelle Obama’s book on my Kindle when my library card said it was expired. Talk about a panic moment. I managed to read the rest of the book very quickly before my Kindle removed the book. I don’t know if the stars had aligned properly so I could finish it out, but it would have been months before I could renew it again. Last week I was finally able to get over and renew my card and this week I’ve downloaded two audio books to listen to on my way to/from work. (And when I’m doing dishes.)
New slippers. I had a pair of Disney Store Eeyore slippers circa 2000 that I finally had to give up. Who knew they wouldn’t make it to 20 years??
New running shoes. I had an Asics gift card to use, and knew that I needed new shoes if I’m going to train for a half marathon. Hoping to break them in over the next few days.
Sunshine. After what felt like a really long winter filled with sickness, rain and more gray skies than I could image, we finally have flowers popping up, and enough warmth that we can open our windows. It feels good. Welcome, spring!
Minnie Mouse. I’m planning a Minnie Mouse party for my daughter (if you count planning as I created a Pinterest board, and I still need to actually DO all of the things.) I’m coming up with some fun ideas! Now to see if I can implement any of them…
What are you loving this month? Or are you like me and just ready to see April arrive?
