Thought-filled Tuesday

I had a mental list of everything I wanted to accomplish this past weekend. I was home with the kids most of Saturday and the most I accomplished was picking up a few things for my daughter’s birthday party and almost fully catching up on the current season of The Voice. I really love The Voice, and I haven’t watched recent seasons. The only show I watch “live” is Grey’s Anatomy, and I usually miss the first 10 or 15 minutes of it.

Oh and I did our grocery shopping this weekend. I am not kidding when I tell you I went to Aldi with a list, but no actual meal plan. I stuck to the list, and I bought meat that I thought we could use this week. I literally told my husband that I figured we would just figure out meals as we came to that day. This is not normal for us. Thankfully I grabbed a whole chicken so I made the slow cooker rotisserie chicken yesterday while we were at the zoo. Tonight we had breakfast for dinner. (And tomorrow I think we’re going to do tacos. Thursday is kind of up in the air, but if my son has his way, we’ll be having grilled cheese or macaroni and cheese.)

My husband is on spring break this week, and I was able to take Monday off. We visited Grandfather Mountain on Sunday, and the Knoxville Zoo on Monday. I need to blog further about our trips because we really enjoyed ourselves, and I have a lot of great photos.

I have a post for tomorrow all about my April goals (it’s never too late to share those, right?) One of my goals is running every day for 100 days – and beyond. I’m a week into this challenge. It’s exciting.

I’m also excited to get our garden really going. The yard is coming along, and hopefully will be in a better place by this weekend. Most of the leaves are gone, which is nice. Now to just get the garden into decent shape and start the season off right!

How is your week going? Are you on spring break? It’s weeks like this that make me wish my spring break was in April and not March. The weather is amazing.
