The following is a sponsored post. All opinions are my own.
I started my car search in the middle of last year. The last time I had purchased a car was in 2012, and I bought the car from my brother. So the last time I dealt with a dealership had been 2003. A really long time ago. When I began my search, I started online before deciding who I wanted to work with. The following are what I think are good qualities to look for when searching for your next car dealership (not necessarily your next car!)
Word of mouth. I knew the type of car I wanted, but I also knew I could buy the car from any lot and hopefully get the best deal. But would I get a quality car? I asked several friends who had recently purchased cars, and I really paid attention to whether or not they felt they were treated well, and whether or not they were happy with their purchase. In the end, the dealership I went through treated me and my family well, even entertaining my son one day, and my whole process was fairly easy.
Willing to negotiate – and to pay attention to competitor’s prices. This was important to me. I knew the dealership could come down on the price of my car, and I was willing to walk away. At Alfa Romeo Fiat of Larchmont in New York, they will actually match or beat any competitor’s written offer.
Not trying to oversell you. I knew what I wanted, how much I was willing to pay, and what I didn’t like in a car. I didn’t want to waste time, and my dealership was great about showing me only cars that fell in my criteria. Nobody tried to oversell me on a car, they met my price requirements and all of the features I wanted. And I left feeling really good about my purchase. Six months later, I still feel good. I can’t say that about every car dealership I’ve ever dealt with.
Alfa Romeo Fiat of Larchmont is located near Manhattan, Long Island, Connecticut and New Jersey. They’ve been serving that community since they opened in 1961 and not only have a great selection of new cars, but also sell certified pre-owned vehicles. They work hard to get to know each driver they work with and what you need in your next car.
