As a mom of two young kids, I tend to forget things…like eating a real meal. My days are packed, and I’m generally squeezing anything and everything into my schedule, including fitness and eating during the day. There are many days when I eat breakfast as I’m rushing everyone to the car or eat lunch at my desk – maybe before or after I exercise. Most of us know these are not good eating habits, but lately I’ve been improving my snack habits and having things like THRIVE PRO Bars to fuel myself – especially if I need something quick before or after a run.

My days go a little like this:

5:45am – wake up
until 6:45am – get myself ready before kids wake.
6:45-7:20 – get kids dressed, fed, out the door. Grab something for myself to eat in the car.
8:00 – arrive at work (sometimes this is a little bit later. Depends on how cooperative the kids are!)
11:30 – lunch hour – I try to work out most days during this hour. Then eat lunch at my desk.
5:00 – head towards home, maybe pick up a child.
5:30 – arrive home, do the dinnertime rush.
6:15 – bathtime for the kids, bedtime routines, homework for the older child.
7:00 – first bedtime.
8:00 – second bedtime.
8:30 – preparing lunches for next day.
Then, I shower, get some work done around the house or do blog work, freelance work or day-job work. Thursdays are the only night I have a TV show I want to watch. 😉
10:30 or 11pm – head to bed.

So yeah, I have little downtime. At work I’m looking for snacks that will fill me up, don’t give me an energy crash mid-afternoon, and that aren’t super high in sugar. The THRIVE PRO Bars from Le-Vel do all of that. They’re also great when I don’t have a chance to eat lunch before I go for a run. At the moment the protein bars come in Cinnamon Roll and Birthday Cake flavors (with additional Cookies & Cream and Lemon Meringue flavors being released this spring) and the Birthday Cake is my favorite! Don’t you want to eat birthday cake without all of the added guilt or the sugar rush? That’s what THRIVE PRO Bars are!

The Birthday Cake THRIVE PRO Bars have only 3 grams of sugar and 20 grams of protein – just what I need to keep my energy up when I’m heading into the gym. The Cinnamon Roll THRIVE PRO Bars only have 2 grams of sugar. Both bars are gluten free.

They don’t leave me feeling rundown or sluggish. The protein bars have been great as a late morning or mid-afternoon snack.

These bars are great to keep in my purse, my work bag, my gym bag or even fit into my running skirt. I’m in the early stages of training for my next half marathon, and will be increasing my food intake during my run and these would be great to eat on a long run!

The Cinnamon Roll protein bar is good, but I don’t think it’s as great as the Birthday Cake flavor bar. Because honestly, I love birthday cake flavor anything (especially actual birthday cake), but I really love when I can get birthday cake without feeling like I’ve blown my entire daily meal plan – which I can do with the THRIVE PRO bars. The texture is not like a hard break-your-teeth-off bar, and these have a cookie texture. I really do like them and I’m excited to start training with birthday cake in the near future. 😉
