Over lunch, I wrote out a list of things I need to take care of at the house – tonight. I found out yesterday that there’s a chance that some family members could be staying at our house as early as tomorrow. (I think we were all thinking they’d be here over the weekend, so I’ve been a little lazy.) At the moment, there’s a toss-up as to whether they’ll stay at my mom’s house or at ours.
Did I mention that over my furlough I emptied out the guest room closet? Yes? Well, did I mention that I didn’t put anything away? I emptied the closet – because that was one of my things on my list to accomplish that week – and all of its contents are sitting in the floor.
I have three post-it notes covered with my things to do. One is for outside (because we still have a pile of leaves that need to be dealt with, and a garden to be prepped), another is for the guest room and the third post-it has a list of things that have to be done this evening. Like dinner. We must eat dinner.
I’m apparently a glutton for punishment in making these lists. I’m hoping that by skipping ceramics class, it will allow me enough time to finish the tasks at hand…and that I can look put-together for any family members that might be stopping by this week.
Wish me luck. There are few hours left in the day (that I’ll at least be awake) and I’d like to get to bed at a decent hour.
Are you a fan of lists??
