Toddler: 35 months
(This has been sitting in draft mode, waiting for my photos. We’re two weeks away from the next “update.”)
In one more month, I will officially have a 3-year-old. I do not know how this happened.
He loves to tickle himself. It’s really cute. If he’s shirtless, he holds his arm up, “tickles” his side and giggles and says “I tickle!”
He has started asking legit questions. When my brother was in town, he very clearly said at dinner one night, “Jason, will you play with me?” It was one of the first times he asked someone to DO something with him. And he’s been non-stop ever since.
He screeches. A lot. Yells. He’s a boy and he is LOUD. We’re working on indoor vs. outdoor voices.
Lucas can count to 20 and then says 100 and Zero – as if zero is larger than 100. He will not let us correct him, either.
He’s super into his Matchbox cars right now. And dinosaurs. Long live the dinosaur.
He hates most vegetables. And other people singing. He still super hates other people singing. He also thinks the “happy birthday song” is a “scary, scary ABC song for cake.” He kind of has a point.
And he is making more pictures on his chalkboard than just straight lines. He’s attempting to make real shapes. It’s cool to watch.
He has grown over a half inch since May. He’s still around 30 pounds. (He’s such an active kid. He is growing up, but not out!)
He is turning into such a little man! Can’t wait to hear what he says next!
i’ve gotta agree with him – dinosaurs are pretty awesome!
It’s always so surprising to me to hear Lillie carry on actual conversations like, she’s grown or something! it really is amazing at how quickly they grow up before we can even realize it.
Also, he’s pretty dang smart because the Happy birthday song is kind of a creepy ABC song for a cake.
And you should have heard him this morning! I asked him if he wanted a dinosaur cake next week and he said, “NO! I need a BIRTHDAY cake!” So. He may be insanely disappointed (terrified, even) when that dinosaur birthday cake appears on the table.
