Tough holiday card decisions to make

I’m a planner by nature. I’m not always the most organized planner, but I love to plan things. So it should be no surprise that I’m planning our Christmas cards in October. (And if you want me to be completely honest, I’ve really been thinking about them since January, when I decided to take a photo of me and my husband every month of the year.)

My husband and I have been married for three years, and for two of those years, we went with photo cards. When we first got married, I used several photo services for our wedding photos – Shutterfly being one of the online sites I used.

I’m pretty sure I want to use at least 3, maybe even 4, photos on our holiday cards this year. When searching for card types, Shutterfly offers the option to choose the type of card you’d like (the theme, holiday, etc.), the number of photos (if any) and even the price point – cheap or not-so-cheap, which I love. We send a lot of cards, so keeping costs down is kind of important.

Now I have the difficult task of choosing which design to go with.

I think the Retro Chic is pretty cute.

And Slate Snow Winter is pretty perfect because I have the option of using 1 to 4 photos.

Wonderful Wishes is nice, but five photos. I’m not sure if I have five great photos of me and my husband. I might have to break out one of my hundreds of cat photos.

Finally, Snowy Night Christmas. Also kind of perfect for us.

Are you a fan of receiving Christmas photo cards? Will you be sending photo cards this year, or something else?

(Disclosure: I will be receiving cards from Shutterfly for talking about them here. It’s okay, though. They’re a pretty cool service, and I’m pretty sure we’re going to have more than one holiday card before all is said and done.)

  1. We do photo cards and I love receiving them too. I haven’t taken many pics of me and the hubs this year, as ususal I’ll be stressing by the middle of November trying to get a good picture to share.

  2. So, do we get to vote for our favorite?? I like #1 and #3. It’s okay with me if you want to talk about Shutterfly here – I usually go with them because they have the best promos and prices.
