Training Tuesday – DC half marathon week 2

We hit a bump in the sleeping road this past week, and I was exhausted almost every day. (This past weekend was the worst.) That truly showed in my running. I’m determined to run more and run harder this week. But lets take a look at what I did didn’t run last week.

Wednesday – 2.5 miles – this was downtown, during lunch. It was so windy and I think I was most inspired to keep going when a total stranger yelled “physical fitness, BABY!”. So, thanks stranger. Also, I busted out WiiFit Wednesday night. It’s been a while. And I definitely felt that workout for days.

Thursday – 4 miles – I ran with my co-worker. It was slower than I could have done, but we did it and that’s what counts.

Friday – I did a core workout (using my WiiFit Plus.) We went out of town Friday afternoon, and I had hopes of running on the treadmill at our hotel.

Saturday – I walked a lot. And I was awake for so much of Saturday. There was NO sleeping on Saturday. The treadmill run did not happen.

Sunday – 2.5 miles after we returned from our trip. My head hurt. My body just felt awful.

So maybe I need to post my goals for the next week so I don’t completely fall off the training wagon. This coming week I would like to:
–get a 7-8 mile run in.
–run at least 4 times.
–complete more core workouts (this could also include Wii Fit exercises. I won’t discriminate.)

Diet-wise (I’m not on a diet, I’m just trying to be a bit healthier):
–Drink more water. Some days I’m only getting a glass of true water (I drink way too much diet soda.)
–Eat at least 1-2 servings of fruit each day.

I think those are good goals. Check back next week to see if I can actually meet my goals.

  1. Yay for random people yelling at you as you run! I work on a college campus where there’s a running trail that surrounds campus – so, the later in the evening it is the more you’re prone to hear yelling.

I have a Wii Fit Plus too, but I don’t really use it like I probably should. What do you do on it?
