I managed five days of running this week. Our weather is getting so much better and I’m remembering just how much I love spring running!
Tuesday – 2.8 miles – I had to guess at the distance. I set out to run for 30 minutes, and we ended up running for 32 minutes. Tried a new route downtown and enjoyed the run.
Wednesday – rest
Thursday – 2 miles – I had lunch with a friend, and had very limited time in the evening. I had 25 minutes from the time I got home to the time I had to pick up the baby from daycare (which is 3 houses away) so I took the long way from our house to daycare. It was 2 miles and took me 20 minutes.
Friday – 3.3 miles – Another lunch run, and I was solo. I wore my iPod and my Garmin and I wish I had just left the Garmin at home. It would not pick up the distance. I ended up going to Google and mapping it out. It was during this run that I realized how much I really rely on technology and I need to stop.
Saturday – 9 miles – Ran with Melissa and Carol and had a great run! The first five miles were super hilly. Again, my Garmin crapped out. (I think this time it was the battery and not the satellite.) We finished in 1:45. We stopped a couple of times – for water after five miles and at one point we stopped to get rocks out of shoes. So we actually ran a little faster, but never stopped the watch. Oh, and this run made me even more excited about DC in just a few weeks!
Sunday – 2 miles running, 1 mile walking. I ran just to run and it was good.
Monday – walked. We walked around a zoo (a small zoo) and then I walked a mile when I was home.
I spent a lot of my time outdoors this week, and less time inside doing cardio. I’m not complaining. I love this weather and I’ll gladly do more running and less stuff inside.
How’s the weather in your area? Are you able to get out more now or is winter still hovering in your town?
