training Tuesday – Downhill at Dawn week 4
This week was kind of a mess when it came to training. My schedule was off, and I felt really off in all aspects of life (work, home, running, everything.)
Tuesday – rest. My legs weren’t happy after Shred the day before.
Wednesday – 2.1 miles in the rain and thunder (and lightning.) It was not fun.
Thursday – 3 miles in the neighborhood. It was pretty hot and I ran this pretty slow. I actually stopped at one point and sent a work email. I’m serious about my running, apparently.
Friday – 5.75 miles. This run felt really good. I decided to try to get my long run in on Friday, rather than Saturday.
Saturday – 2 miles in the neighborhood and a walk (1 mile.) I also did a ton of yard work and knew I’d pay for it on Sunday.
Sunday – 3 miles….in the neighborhood.
Monday – 2 miles running with the jogging stroller.

I’ve still stuck with most of the TLAM plan regarding my mileage. My race is this Saturday and I’m hoping for the best. I don’t have any half marathons planned after this weekend. I have a 5k or two that I’m considering, but nothing serious. I’m getting burnt out on the longer distances, and I’m ready to sleep in on Saturday mornings. I do have some goals for this weekend, though. I’d really like to break 2:15. I’ve done it before (pre-kiddo days, of course.)Ā My PR for a half marathon is 2:14:19.

Go get that PR this weekend! I have no doubt you can do it.
you’re going to have an awesome race this w/e…i can feel it š
My SIL was a huge runner, but year after several marathons she realized it just wasn’t worth the wear on her body and just does shorter ones.
You chase that PR down and then drown it in your badass hard-working like a mother sweat. You gots this!
oh how I wish I could favorite this comment!
Dang girl. Running in the storm definitely cancels out the work email break. That is dedication! I can’t wait to hear about your race this weekend!!! And I think scaling back to sleep in on Saturdays sounds like a great idea š
