I skipped training Tuesday last week and I almost skipped it this week, but I ran 3 times so that’s worth talking about, right?
So I skipped training for almost 2 weeks. Stress got the best of me. My goal going forward is to use exercise to fight stress. (Surprisingly, I’ve managed to lose weight in the past two weeks, but I think it’s from forgetting to eat and not snacking. I’m telling you….stress. It’s awful.)
Now for my workouts….
Thursday – I met up with Melissa and ran just under 3 miles. We were looking to do something short and seeing how I haven’t done anything short (or much running at all) recently, I was going to struggle to get 3!
Friday – Went downtown and ran with Stacey, my former boss. We ran a little over 3 miles. It was hot, muggy and just gross, but it was a good run. I miss running with her.
Monday – Ran in my neighborhood during naptime. I totally had negative splits for my 3 miles. The third mile was so great. My splits: 11:14/10:21/8:50.
I’m hoping to get in a 4-miler this week and increase my mileage over the next several weeks. I still would love to do the Positive Prevention 12k in November, and the Color Run 5k the day before that (which isn’t much of a race, but rather a fun run/walk.) I’m also looking into the Thomas Wolfe 8k since Stacey mentioned it to me on Monday. It’s a cool race and I love running in Asheville in October.
It’s time to hold me accountable, ok? Feel free to nag. I must get back into exercising regularly…
