training Tuesday – a little more consistent
I traveled again this past week. Unfortunately, the hotels were not in areas safe for runners (no sidewalks, close to interstates.) I was definitely doing what I possibly could get in. At one point I worked out in my hotel room. (Thanks, Amazon Prime, for the 6 week 6 pack workout!)
Tuesday – A lot of driving (Atlanta to Greenville to Charlotte.) When we arrived in Charlotte, I got a workout done in my room. I did the Six Week Six Pack workout (by Jillian Michaels) while watching it on my laptop. It was amazing!
Wednesday – 3 miles on an elliptical. One treadmill was broken, and the other was in use. I really had to push to get this workout in (the room was like a sauna.)
Thursday – 30 minutes on the treadmill. Again, hot room. But at least I got a run in.
Friday – I mowed our lawn in about an hour. If you know our yard, you know what an accomplishment this was.
Saturday – Four miles in my neighborhood. One mile walk with the family.
Sunday – Five miles in the intense heat (82 degrees) with my friend Melissa. It was not my fastest run, and it was SO hot. Glad I even got 5 miles in.
Monday – 3.3 miles during lunch. I thought it was going to rain (it was sprinkling in the morning) but the clouds cleared and I set off. I even tackled the long uphill that I was determined to run without stopping before the end of the semester. And I totally ran it (slow). Made my day. And my legs hurt. Oh, but I saw the baby horse again! He says hello.
So, positives of the week….I streamed a workout on my laptop and was able to exercise in the comfort of my hotel room. And on Saturday I set out to run 3 miles, and ended up running 4. Go, me! I wish I had run longer on Sunday, but it wasn’t possible to run before church and the weather was working against me. Oh and I got an outside run during lunch on Monday! Score!!
I have a 7-miler tentatively planned for this weekend. I really need to build my mileage (kind of quickly!) before my half marathon in just 5.5 weeks. Eek!
Have you gone on a workout adventure recently? Or had to improvise with your workouts?
Don’t forget to take a rest day! I get burned out if I don’t take one!
oh, definitely! I generally have a day or two of rest (or just light walking) and I think I counted Friday as my rest day, even though I mowed the lawn. 🙂
The weather hasn’t cooperated for us to run outside yet, so we’re still stuck with classes at the Y. Hopefully soon though!
Good for you.. one day… I need to start a regimen and stick with it!
I am lame & I just stick to my classes, but that is awesome that you were able to get out and run so much!
Hope you are having a little bit of rest too! What a sweet picture of the horse. 🙂
I really need to start improving my workout routine. And by improving I mean actually start one. Not this sporadic crap I’ve been doing!
you’re doing great and sticking to it. I wish I had that motivation
You go girl! I love to workout but running is so not my thing. I still do it, but just going the mile and a half on Saturday night was plenty for me. Perhaps I’ll do that again once this week too. Maybe not… lol
Good luck in the marathon!!!!!!
You’re doing great! I’ve gotten better with my consistency though I need to start running since one of my boys wants to run in races all the time and he can’t always go on his own.
It looks like you’ve gotten in some good exercise. Keep up the great work!
This was a great week – even with the obstacles you faced! Send over a little bit of your motivation I could really use it!
You are very determine to get your work out in and I like that! Make sure you get yourself some rest and not burn yourself out.
I wish I had the motivation to run! I need to get up and moving! Way to go on keepong it up!
Sorry about the butterfingers! Way to go on keeping it up!
Ok, you’re just making me tired (said with a smile). I so admire you for your diligence. It takes dedication and hard work and you are showing us both. More power to you.
So proud of your hard work! I loved running outside…until the summer sun came to Arizona 🙂
You are inspiring me to keep on pushing! My abs are so sore today. I feel like quitting! Thanks for being positive.
Your commitment is totally admirable. I’m so impressed with how you managed to squeeze fitness in.
Good for you and your running & exercise. I need to start moving more! I love that you see a pony on your runs and that it comes to visit you at the fence for a picture!
I am jealous of your good weather. I am still waiting to get outside and move.
I’ve been doing a lot of working out at home lately. It’s more convenient for me since the gym is kind of far. I love my workout videos and sometimes to change it up I go for a run in the neighborhood.
Props to you on accomplishing much this week! I couldn’t imagine working out in a sauna room!
So, you’re awesome! This post just reminded me that I am out of excuses to get my booty moving.
I love your determination! You make no excuses. You get it done! That’s just great
I definitely need to start exercising on a daily basis!
YAY! Go you! I wish I was motivated as you. I only work out like twice a week.
So motivating. Your determination has inspired me!
I totally read that as “I started my workout on my laptop” and I was thinking HEY me too! 🙂 Then I reread it as streamed on my laptop! LOL
5 miles in that kind of heat! Holy mackerel, I can’t even imagine that.
I admire your determination, you’re doing great. Love the baby horsey!
Work it girl!!! Love that you are journaling your path to training and others can follow along and be inspired.
I’m amazed about what you have accomplished! I wish to be a runner like that one day.
good for you for working out even when it didn’t seem possible. I was supposed to work out with friends today maybe I need to hop off and just work out by myself since none of them could make it.
I started a new workout series Monday but wasn’t able to do Tuesday’s workout because of errands. To compensate I did laps around the grocery store, the employees looked at me like I was nuts lol.
Sounds like you are doing an awesome! I have recently been bitten by the exercise bug. I actually hope it sticks around. I have been doing morning walks. I actually skipped today but I hope to get a walk in tomorrow.
You are such an inspiration! I am really trying to get more fit and workout.
Good for you!!! I just started a health kick to get my beach body into gear at the beginning of this week so it’s very inspiring to read this. Also- that baby horse. Too cute.
My entire workout routine is inconsistant. I need to be able to turn it into an actual routine instead of this start-stop hiccup I have going on.
It’s so wonderful that you are being consistent with your workouts! To be honest, the last thing I think about doing while I’m traveling is exercise. Way to go, Jaime!
It’s been rainy and gross here the past several days. Hopefully the weather will clear up so that people can start getting out soon.
way to go!
do you have shower facilities at work for the lunch time running or do you just ‘clean up’ in the restroom?
Sounds like a really productive week! Go you!
Wow! You are on a roll! HOw inspiring. I did manage a few pushups and jumping jacks in my hotel room this week. That has to count for something, right?
I love that you keep yourself accountable by doing this post. I really need to be more consistent.
