Let’s call this past week a mostly successful training week. At least I got mileage in each day. And I got in my longest run before my half marathon in less than two weeks. (!!!)
So for one of my final Training Tuesday’s before race day, I give you my mediocre workouts…
Tuesday – 1.1 mile walk
Wednesday – 1.4 miles walked/hiked
Thursday – Jillian Michaels workout before work. Neighborhood walk in the evening.
Friday – Evening family walk – about 1.5 miles.
Saturday – 10-mile run. I felt good about this run. The pace was a tad slow, but really only two of my miles out of the 10 were more than 11-minute mile paces (and we had stopped during both of those miles.) Based on the uphills of the route we ran, I’m feeling a little more confident about my race in a week and a half.
Sunday – 2.5-mile run
Monday – weights (arms) and play date with the toddler. I had hoped to go for a run during nap time or after he went to bed. It did not happen and that’s ok.
Suzanne and I had hoped to do some running on Bailey Mountain (near campus), but it turned into a walk/hike. And not as far as we would have hoped. I did a lot of walking last week. I did weights another day, but I don’t have that written down. On Saturday, I met up with Suzanne to get at least 8 miles in. We met at a park, and ran about 6.5 miles together and then I ran 3.5 miles on my own. The 10-miler will be my longest run before the half, and i feel comfortable with that.
Only one more training Tuesday before the half marathon! I’m getting nervous excited!
So excited for you for your upcoming race, you will do great!
