training Tuesday – Thomas Wolfe 8k race this weekend!
Did you know I have a race coming up this weekend? Seriously. It’s a little mind-boggling given my training has been all over the place. (I can’t seem to get into a decent routine. Or maybe I’m in a routine, and don’t quite realize it?) Let’s just get to Training Tuesday. (And please link up below! I want to visit and comment on your blogs!)
Tuesday – 4.08 miles with Carol before she had to go to work.
Wednesday – 30-day Shred. (This left me sore for THREE DAYS.)
Thursday – Yard work. Walked in the neighborhood.
Friday – Water aerobics. See soreness note from above. Water aerobics helped get some of the soreness out.
Saturday – Walking.
Sunday – Rest. With a little bit of walking with the toddler.
Monday – 3.4 miles in the neighborhood.
So I’m running the Thomas Wolfe 8k this weekend. I don’t think I’m in the shape I was in last year, but I’m also sleeping a little more than I was a year ago. (Remember, my boy wasn’t sleep through the night until December.) I’m excited about this race. It’ll be a little different in terms of where the start/finish are (they’re back at the Thomas Wolfe house), but the course should be the same. It’s supposed to be in the 60s and a nice day. The leaves are changing, and it’s just a great time to run around Asheville. Of course I’ll report back with a race report next week!

Exciting! I definitely worry about the hills, but this time I’m concerned with the 5 miles (though I’ve been running 3.5 and 4 miles, so 5 shouldn’t be an issue.) It’s such a pretty race!
