training Tuesday…marathon week 15
Taper. Family in town. Double ear infection hit our family. This was a tough week and I’m so thankful for tapering so I don’t feel incredibly guilty for not doing as much as I had hoped.
Tuesday – rest
Wednesday – ran 3 miles
Thursday – ran 2.5 miles, walked at Biltmore Estate
Friday – ran 3 miles
Saturday – ran 10 miles with Suzanne. Our time was 1 hour, 47 minutes. That is a 10:42 pace and I felt good. We tackled a ton of hills, and I finished on the UNCA track. This 10-miler actually made me more excited about my upcoming half marathon. (I’m just ready for the marathon to be behind me, in case you couldn’t tell.)
Updated to add: I forgot that it was raining on Saturday! It was cold when I started out, and then I got too warm. I’m a bit nervous about what I’ll wear this coming weekend, but right now the forecast shows no rain (fingers crossed!)
Sunday – rest
Monday – ran 2 miles and felt sluggish. I think it was a combination of poor eating, sick kid and just overall feeling blah. I don’t feel like I have a cold, though, and I’ve been upping my vitamin intake just to ensure that I’m healthy this weekend.
And this time next week I should be posting a marathon update! How crazy is that???
eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!! i’m getting excited for you!
Let’s buy a bottle of that limited edition Chardonnay at the expo and drink it at the finish line! Woooo!!!
I definitely have plans to buy a bottle of the wine. Not sure I’ll be hydrating with alcohol immediately following the finish, though! š
