Traveling thoughts
I ran 3 miles this morning in 29 minutes. It was a completely flat run (we’re visiting my in-laws this weekend), so I half-expected to run a little bit faster. Then again, I wasn’t completely sure of where 1.5 miles was – I figured out after my run that I had estimated exactly right. Go, me!
We’re visiting Lake Waccamaw this weekend for a family reunion on my husband’s side. It’s the first time the majority of the family has met the baby. People say he looks like a spitting image of his dad. I don’t know, but I think he looks a lot like me, too. The eyes. The smile. Even the chin (and definitely the cheeks.) He definitely has my husband’s hair.
I’ve been paying attention in my photography class. I remembered settings to try and what the settings did. (These are the preset settings. I’m still figuring out aperture and stuff like that.) For the photo above, I set up the camera, told my husband what to look for, and I think he did a fabulous job.
We head back to Asheville in the morning for my birthday. I’m wondering where the past year has gone. I was exhausted during my birthday last year. I feel close to that exhausted, except this year I have a 13-month-old, rather than a 6-week-old newborn. I guess I’m feeling different kinds of exhaustion.
