Turkey Day
it’s almost here…and I’m not really prepared for it! Tomorrow morning, Jason and I will embark on the Turkey Trot. He said we could stick together throughout the run, but that he’d “smoke me at the end” of it. How nice. The boy averages a 7:30 mile, so I expect him to beat me, but at least he could be kind about it. I did take time out of my stupid day yesterday to go and register him for it, since he never sent in his form.
Speaking of my stupid day…my car was hit last week, in a parking lot. My insurance company said originally that it was under collision, and then they called back to tell me that it was under comprehensive coverage of my policy – and that I owed nothing on it, and they’d fix all. Well, I spent Tuesday morning getting an estimate on it (shortly after my dentist appointment, which is never fun) and then I headed over to Farm Bureau to get photos and finish the claim. They then told me that they made a mistake, that the damages fall under collision and that I’d have to pay $250 to get it fixed. Keep in mind, the car is fine. I’m fine. The car is just really scratched – and I don’t like that. I thanked my agent’s assistant for wasting my time, and I apologized for the girl being incompetent on Friday and that she had such a lack of knowledge to even handle her job.
I think I may switch insurance companies next week because of their incompetence.
SO, back to Turkey Day. Kenny’s family is in town, staying with us, and we have a big soiree planned for tomorrow around 1. Anyone who wants to join, please do 🙂 All we ask is you bring a dish to share. I’ll be making biscuits for the first time (thank you, Jordan, for bringing potatoes – I didn’t want to really learn how to make those this go-round!)
On Friday, I will be hitting Best Buy before I hit the mall and work 7 hours. Jaime needs a new computer. Good ‘ole Bessie (my computer) turns 7 years old in January. It’s time that she retire. (Don’t worry – I have a much more updated laptop that I use for all my freelance work.) But, a new computer is definitely in my future. I’ll keep you posted.
Happy Thanksgiving!
