two down, one to go
I made it to my morning running group at 7 this morning and it. was. freezing. In the 20s. Freezing.
There were 3 people who were running 14 miles, and two that were running 8. I needed to run 12. I talked with someone about my weekend of running and she thought I could do 8 today since I ran yesterday and will be racing tomorrow. While I was running my 8, I decided I could tack on 2 more at the end by myself. There’s a road I can run down by UNCA, and it adds two miles to any run.
Then I went a little crazy. I ran past the university and over to the entrance leading to Richmond Hill Inn, giving me an additional two miles. I got my 12 mile run in. And boy am I sore.
We had a water stop at mile 4, and the guy came out of his house to greet us (Buddy always comes out and greets the runners.) He told us we were very committed, if we were out running and it was only 21 degrees out. I told him I’d rather not discuss the weather this morning 🙂
I think I’ll be lucky if I break 30 minutes on the 5k tomorrow. I’m really going to be hurting. And I don’t want to hurt myself. I am training for Nashville, not for the 5k and I need to keep reminding myself of that.
Now I’m off to sit in the movie theater. Hope you’re having a great Saturday!
