Two years ago today I married Kenny. And it’s been a pretty fabulous two years, if I do say so myself (and I do.)

A year ago (October 19, actually) we saw James Taylor in Asheville. A year ago today we decided to make the offer on our first house.

I joked that the first anniversary gift was paper, and since we made the offer on our house, that qualified because it was a TON of paper we had to deal with!

The second wedding anniversary gift is cotton, so we splurged on new bedding. And when I say “splurged” I really mean that we came across several Belk gift cards we forgot we had, and used them on a down comforter (we also got a discount for having a registry with them – saving us an additional 10%.) We spent just under $13 on our anniversary gift to each other. We’re not quite finished though, as we’re going to buy a duvet cover and (hopefully soon) paint the bedroom something other than beige.

Tonight we’re staying in, cooking dinner, and trying to save money after the recent events dealing with our cars and furnace.

Married life really does rock.

  1. Congratulations! Married life is a wonderful thing! Enjoy your beautiful day together.

P.S. I am thinking about you and “Oliver the wonder dog”. I remember going through the same thing with my boxer, Nala, a few years ago. It was a heartbreaking time.
