A visit from the grandparents
My dad and stepmom arrived in Asheville last Thursday afternoon to visit Lucas. It was their first time meeting him, since they couldn’t be here when he was born. (Medical things held them up.) We were able to get out several days, but for the past couple of days we just hung out at the house. Lucas was getting worn out and he was wearing me out. We really had to get him back on somewhat of a schedule.
Thursday was all about hanging out at the house and getting to know the little guy. The best part about this week? How I could hand Lucas off to my dad, and he would fall asleep almost every single time. (Sometimes, they both fell asleep.)
Friday was my birthday, and we left the baby with my mom and the four of us went to dinner. Dinner was okay, and cake afterwards was great (my mom made it, and my grandma and aunt came over for dessert.)
Saturday was homecoming at Mars Hill College (where I went to school, and where my husband and I got married almost four years ago!) So Lucas enjoyed his first football game (sleeping) and we took a photo in front of the chapel where we were married:
We took a drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway on Sunday. It was cool and cloudy for most of our trip, but still very pretty.
Monday was spent at home, except for my doctor’s appointment (where I was released to run and exercise to my heart’s content!)
Tuesday was another rest day (here, he’s sleeping on my dad’s arm):
Wednesday, I endured two and a half hours at the dentist. That afternoon, we took a walk at a nearby lake while my husband was at work.
I think it’s safe to say this child was pretty happy about meeting another set of grandparents.
Today is my first day of solo-parenting in a week, but that won’t last long. We have another set of grandparents arriving tonight!
Thnk you so much for getting these pictures posted so efficiently…..As always Lucas is a sweety, but even more, to get to see the pictures of Grandpa Bruce is soo wonderful!! He always had a way with babies! Try & get a bit of rest today, before the next set of grandparents arrive….Have a wonderful time………..
oh he looks so happy to meet Grandpa! Yeah for being able to run, I know you will be flying in no time!
