Waikiki….and a wedding
The same day we did the fun kayaking, we also ventured down to Waikiki (it was within walking distance) to check out the scenes, and a parade that afternoon. My brother’s band (the Army Band) was in the parade, and I think that was the main reason we went.
The beach was insane, compared to what we enjoyed near our resort (which wasn’t a private beach, but it was lined with more hotels and just had a lot less people.) Without further ado….10 pictures. Oh, and be sure to scroll to the last photo. It was kind of funny.
The father of modern surfing, Duke Kahanamoku:
There were SO many weddings taking place, and the street provided a perfect spot for a wedding photo, since they were shut down for the beginning of the parade. Check out this girl’s dress, though! She had someone who helped carry it, because she couldn’t move on her own!
I hope you’re not getting too bored with all of the Hawaii talk, and the pictures! It’s fun remembering it all!
I *love* seeing the pictures. I haven’t been since I was 10, and I miss it tremendously.
It is so beautiful there. Glad you’re blogging about it! š
Thanks for the pictures and “commentary”. It’s probably as close as many of us will ever get to Hawaii!!
ohh…I wanna go to that beach RIGHT.NOW. And that dress is beautiful!
So jealous you got to go to Hawaii, and that is quite the dress
